This weekend we started and finished something quite amazing- last Friday we opened The Shape of Things to a packed house at Ontop/Above, and it was the beginning of a beautiful run. We were sold out or close to it every performance, the audiences were wonderful and receptive, the cast really worked their butts off and we all had so much fun with it. Another thank you to the City of St. John’s for an arts grant to go toward this show, to Jesse and Ontop/Above for being incredibly helpful and supportive (and for exposing us to a great new home to stage a theatre story like ours), Ryan Hermens and the Groundswell Collective for our handmade silkscreened posters, to everyone from our fundraiser, Aiden Flynn from Rabbittown Theatre for the chairs and blocks, Mack Furlong for the great interview on CBC radio’s weekend art magazine, The Sprout for being so respectful to our performance above them, Knoah Bender for the featured artwork for our show… the list goes on and if we missed you on our program or didn’t mention you here, you know we love you and thank you deeply! We had an amazing time, and it was a solid success for Engine Production’s second show ever! We thank you all, seriously!
PLUS we will be (further) announcing news about the upcoming QUEER THEATRE FESTIVAL that we will be presenting to coincide with St. John’s Pride Week 2012!
Again, much love and thanks for the support, and we hope you enjoyed. Here are a few photos (click on the photo below to be brought to our facebook album). And now… we’re gonna start on the next show!
