That’s a wrap on YOU ARE HERE!

YAH Cast Crew 2

Can’t believe it’s over already, but that’s a wrap on YOU ARE HERE by Daniel MacIvor.¬†We had very warm houses every night, received so much support and had an incredible time sharing this amazing play with you. A big thanks to guest director Kevin Woolridge on sculpting such a play, and of course to Daniel MacIvor himself for this amazing script and his kind words. As a company, this was our fifth production and it has certainly launched us forward for the next one! We had great media coverage, with special thanks to The Muse who wrote about us, another story in The Independent, and also Gordon Jones from The Telegram¬†gave us a strong review in this week’s paper. We have tons of photos on our Facebook page¬†if you’d like to see YAH images.¬†Also remember to follow us on twitter if that’s more your style to see what we’re up to.

We also introduced our new PaperLESS programs. In order to be more environmentally conscious, we have cut our traditional paper programs and instead we give small cards with our poster printed on one side and a QR code/website link on the back that directs you to our digital program. You can view it on your smartphone or computer. Read show info, credits, bios, view headshots and more. It allows you to check out the rest of our website and learn more about our company, plus it helps us save money and resources. This helps us pay our artists more by cutting back on unnecessary fees. We were inspired to create this thanks by our friends at Open Theatre Company. From all of us at EP, we would encourage other companies big and small to adopt this same PaperLESS program. We can make theatre companies a little more eco-friendly ūüôā #PaperLESS #CoSupportYo

yah small back programUntil next time, lots of love and thanks to everyone who supported and joined us- it was an honour. Extra thanks to the Newfoundland & Labrador Arts Council. Hope to see you at the next EP show, and please support local artists/local theatre!

MacIvor sends us his thoughts on YAH!

Daniel MacIvor¬†emailed us about YAH (how cool is that?!) Here’s what he had to say about the show.

“When I was a kid I read a story about a man who died and was forced to watch his life over again like a film, in real time, with him as the only viewer. That idea stayed with me and is central to Allison’s journey in You Are Here. Her dilemma is one I try to remember daily – we may get to revisit our lives many times, but we only get to make the choices we make once. Choose well.”

Made our week, thanks Daniel! Listen in to¬†CBC WAM¬†with Angela Antle this Sunday, November 24 at 9:10am to hear YAH director Kevin Woolridge talk about the show- plus Antle claims that MacIvor one time hit her in the chops?! Find out what happened there! ūüôā¬†A HUGE thanks to The Muse¬†who wrote a really great article about us! Fine it in print at Memorial University or online soon! Thanks again to everyone who came out to our fundraiser on Tuesday- a really fun night and a chance to relax a bit before we open- only 6 days!

Well, 2013 has been an awesome year for us so far! Our fundraiser at The Levee was by far our MOST successful yet! So many lovely faces, so many talented bands, lots of sweet baked treats, pizza graciously donated by Stoggers Pizza, and just a really fun night.
